1989 Burton Batplane

8 Attachment(s)
I have to say this design has held up well to me. The kit is well made too. The boxing is from 89/90 so there was some minor warpage. The box wasnt in great shape so the wings were out of whack. Still slightly are but i will live with it. Other than that the pars fit is great and positive. Some touchy areas to get to when sanding but i got to them. The figure is nicely done too and has good surface detail and fits great in the cockpit. Not much left to do but i cant wait to start painting and see how i can bring a dead black vehicle some life.

Very cool. Model has some nice detail to it.

Very nice . . . . funny, I just scored the exact same kit about a month ago. Haven't done much work on it yet, but . . . was amazed too at the detail and fit of the thing. Looking forward to seeing you inspire me for mine! :)

how funny I picked one up last month too - The burton era bat vehicles are timeless arent they?

Detail is raised - you gonna leave as is or recscribe / rerivet?

im leaving it as is.

Re: 1989 Burton Batplane

There`s some really nice examples of the batwing done up. Not all of this kit, but, some interesting ideas for paint jobs.

I`m thinking of a nato black for the most part on mine, but then picking out the odd panel and trying out a nato black just slightly tainted with a metal type colour, to see how that looks.

My kit came without a figure though. Guy says he has it, but then dropped off the face of the earth. Really want a Batman in there though, so . . . until I can grab one, I`m more or less stalled.

Would like to try to put some more detail into the control panels too.

Re: 1989 Burton Batplane

Im going with a straight tamiya black then i will shade panels with nato black and german grey. Trying to emulate what i can see on the filming model sort of.

Well, since you`ll be finishing this LONG before I finish mine . . . I will be VERY patiently watching and waiting! :)

The original screen used models were painted Gunmetal, I saw two real ones at Planet Hollywood in New York.

You are a fool who should have done his research. Your choice of colours is very poor and your interpretation of what is accurate and what isn't is about as useless as you are as a human being.

I hope you enjoyed your Batjet build, or whatever the hell you think the thing is called, you're a jerk.

Whoa, where the fuck did that come from?!?

Why the need for such a personal attack, especially on such an old thread?

You've posted only 15 times in the last 8 years, and you felt this was necessary?

Totally out of line. If there is a problem, put it in a PM. I come here to see models being made, not that shi*t!

As for the Batwing, I'd like to see more. Been on hiatus for a while? How's it going so far?

The guy deserved it for doubting me. He shouldn't have responded like a brick head. Those Planet Hollywood BAT WINGS are absolutely legitimate, I spent a long time with them personally, up close, taking detailed photos and matching them to the film and behind the scenes photos.

The sad result for ANYONE here is that now I won't be willing to share my high resolution photos, unless you pay me. :)

Really? You posted saying you'd seen two at Planet Hollywood - didn't show even a low rez of one of your pics to back up your comment - then ripped into him because he "doubted" you?
As I read it he was merely giving his own opinion of what he'd seen in PH.

I didn't realize this was the rivet counter's forum...

So you're gonna take your toys and go home? Well, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!

RI is about community and sharing. If you want to be an elitist ass, head over to the RPF.

Re: 1989 Burton Batplane

The problem is that you didn't respond by laying out your history with the PL models, or offer any kind of proof that they are as close the authentic as you say. That would have gotten you high points and possibly people asking for your input. Maybe even him.

His remark was about the models themselves, Planet Hollywood and not you.

Instead, you immediately started insulting his builds, his intelligence, and then his very humanity. Personally, after reading that, I wouldn't ask you for anything...

Re: 1989 Burton Batplane

You guys are so funny. You thought I was being serious? It was tongue in cheek the whole time. I'm far from a rivet counter, in fact, I hate rivets because they remind me of evil rivet counters on the internet.

Re: 1989 Burton Batplane

I'm not really bothered about the model, or person you took a pop at but the above post?

Don't talk bollocks!

Responding to a four year old post in the manner you did and carrying on the same way? No, you were not joking or being 'tongue in cheek' either.
You strolled in to an ancient thread, made a shitty comment, got called on it and are now trying the exceedingly lame 'I was only joking' claim like an dodgy politician.

What next? Going to roll out the 'My words have been taken out of context' garbage?
Are you running for office or something because that may wash in a political arena but ain't going to work here.

As a suggestion, it may be a good idea to enjoy combined sex and travel.

Though that may be a bit cryptic so i'll put it simply for you.
Fuck off.

delorean1981 10-11-2017 01:23 AM

Re: 1989 Burton Batplane

Combined sex and travel are good, but how would you know anything about that?

Dude it was a clever joke. Have a sense of humour and a pint at home, alone.

Re: 1989 Burton Batplane

Anyway jerkoff, it's gunmetal. Now go back to "not counting" your rivets and huffing your tamiya extra thin while you fall into a bottomless pit of mediocrity, you son of a bitch.

Joking, but seriously it's gunmetal.

I see you're trolling Raytheon on his Falcon build now.

Still joking? :dontknow:

I won't trade barbs back and forth with you, but I can give you the boot.

Not quite sure why I wasted my time even posting this. :icon_scratch:

Cut it out...

...and now you're trolling him on his DeBoer thread?

You make this waaaaaaaay too easy.

Go be a production designer somewhere else.... wank

Vermin has been dealt with gents.

We all have a little too much going on right now to deal with this fucktard.

He's better suited to Facebook anyhow since he's so good at trolling---I've probably done him a favor... ;)

Might I suggest deleting his posts? They add nothing of value to this site.

As a warning to future generations that they've entered the tiger pit of the modeling world?
