Ghost Rider Figure Animated Style

1 Attachment(s)
Greetings Gang!
Right then, got handed this with a build/paint/lightup brief which will be a giggle in a wierd sort of way.

The figure was sculpted from this artwork...

http://www.ianlawrencemodels.com/web...pgr/image.jpeg

Which is kinda different as monster/horror things of the model persuasion just really ain't me but anyway, job to do so kit parts looksee and whathaveyou are on the site at this page:

http://www.ianlawrencemodels.com/wipgr.html

As is, the figure is about 11" tall. An inch or two will be added because of the base and all the gear i'll have to pack in to it but we'll see how that goes.

Enjoy! :D

Re: Ghost Rider Figure Animated Style

Thanks Drew old bean!
The castings are certainly good and better than the some of the things i've had to deal with in distant and recent past.

Well page 2 now up, parts clean, lighting prep and circuits built.

Go easy out there all!

This could be the first kit I've seen with a butane ignition switch. ;)

Re: Ghost Rider Figure Animated Style

Thanks fellas :)
HWR, it's not that difficult really mate. Some of it is knowing what will and wont work and I don't know that much of it. The rest is kniwing how to sort of solder and read circuit diagrams.

If I can do it then it can't be that hard trust me.

Drew, yep but that's not the problem.
It's getting that propane tank hooked up, that's the bastard ;)

Doing some seam filling and the head LEDs installed and working so getting on with it, more when I got the next update sorted.
Take care all!

Re: Ghost Rider Figure Animated Style

very nice. I assume the flicker effect is being a little messed up by the recording frame rate.

Re: Ghost Rider Figure Animated Style

I believe you assume correctly sah!
Doesn't look quite right to how it does to the eye but it will have to do for now untill I can get better sorted which I will about the end of this build I reckon.

Not there yet but getting there so update time!

Re: Ghost Rider Figure Animated Style

Howdo gang!
Not an update as such but been having a play about with the DecalPro FX diy rub down decal kit and the results are promising.
At least it means I can do white decals now and that's a bonus. A bit of tarting up to the back of ole flame head with something by client request.

A smidgen of cleaning up to be done but not too bad methinks and the client approves so all good so far.

http://www.ianlawrencemodels.com/web...r/Imag0355.jpg

Plus side, it's taken about three days work after scanning the whole waterslide decal sheet and redoing the whole thing but this will come in useful for a future project or three :D

http://www.ianlawrencemodels.com/web...e/Imag0362.jpg

No carrier film or having to matt down on pearlescent paintwork and that will suit me just fine.

Take care all :icon_thumright:

This is what the on screen bike looks like...

So the start of the bike parts for the wreckage, machined aluminium and modified brass chain for the front forks.
