Default Re: 1/72 Matchbox Lancaster

A little more work done last night and this morning. I started putting the bomb bay doors on, but a test fit showed a gap problem. With the doors pressed together, they left a ledge along the hinge line with the fuselage. But placed right at the edge. left a gap down the middle. I figure a gap down the middle is easier to handle than ledges...

So I started putting them on one door at a time, using scrap plastic to form extra gluing surfaces.

And since I know I'll be sanding them, some extra support doesn't seem like a bad idea...

Here's the expected gap.

And the styrene used to fill it.

Once that's dry, I'll trim the plastic close, then use CA to fill any remaining gaps. Once dry, I'll sand and get more practice with panel lines!
