Default Laurel and Hardy for my Bro's 60th Birthday.

And me Bro is deffo a fan of these fellas!

Okedoke then, these fellas started out as VERY weather-beaten and damaged fibreglass moulded garden ornaments, got from a neighbour some time back when they were having a clear out.

Not in the best of states and here's the before pics:

Stan was mussing a couple of fingers on his left hand and both were in need of some minor to serious repair. The fibreglass had not been moulded up very well so more than a few gaps between the glassing and gel coat so they had to be knocked in and filled out etc.

Not a small job and not small figures. I'd tag 'em at about 1/3rd scale.

First thing was removing Ollie's head and reworking the hat. decided a slight angle rather than sitting level would be nice.
The before...

And after with some 'hair' done with Aves.

So the head put back where it should be, some serious re-glassing to the insides, a metric shit ton of surface work/repairs, a wooden crate for them to sit on and a fair amount of painting got the following...

And a last B/W shot for the hell of it.

As far as 1930's to 40's slapstick movies are concerned and IMHO, Laurel and Hardy were and are often imitated, seldom equalled, never bettered.
