Default P@t's ENT Tholian Webspinner: Review-in-force

Well, here you have it. A 1/72, reptile-produced Tholian kit.

I'm not really into Enterprise, but I always liked Tholian ships. This one looked cool, so I had to get me one.

What you get: Three identical pieces and an instruction sheet. P@t mastered the kit, and came up with an ingenious way of engineering it so that it'd go together with little fuss.

Dasphule casted it, and that guy does outstanding work. He's meticulous, and if you ever want to see him pissed off, show him a poorly-casted resin part. I did at WF, and I learned a few new words. (He also produces, among other things, the 1/1000 TOS D7 corrected neck. I got to get me one of those!)

Here are a few pics I took.... the ONLY thing I did was to trim the pour stubs off so I could tack it together. No other cleanup whatsoever was done - I want you to see exactly what you get.

Two views of the kit parts:

Here it is, tacked together:

Bottom line: Great kit. A little cleanup (a natural thing in any resin kit!), glue it together, and paint it. It's damn well worth having.

An interesting kitbash: Take one of these, turn it around, and attach a pair of NX-01 style nacelles.... and Voila! An Enterprise-era Aurora!

At last count, P@t has one of these left......

The world's coming to an end: Round 2 has announced they are releasing the TOS E next year in 1/350th scale. Actually, if they change their mind or get bought out, their world WILL come to an end....
