Default F4U-1D in 1/48

This is my Tamiya Corsair. It's a good kit with real nice detail. I added some bits, like Eduard PE for the cockpit, resin exhausts from Ultracast and a Vector cowl set for the actuator and ribs inside the lip. The engine is part resin and part kit with a wiring harness made from a 7/16 external retainer ring found at the local hardware store and wire.
The armored glass inside the canopy was replaced with a thin piece of clear plastic from a package and the wing tips lights were replaced with clear styrene.
I used the kit decals for a plane off the USS Franklin over Tamiya Field Blue.
