Default Revell 1/8 Astronaut

Hey fellas!

My 3 year old son is getting more and more into the NASA space stuff. He even managed to give me the same bugg, lol. The other week we went by the local hobby shop and there were a few cool NASA kits. One was the apollo astronaut. Remembering riders and Jaegers great build ups of the kit, I felt it would be a fun project to build together with my son.

This is nothing near as nice as the other build ups mentioned, but a pretty straightforward build with a few small details added.

This was a perfect paintjob to let my son try the air brush, great fun!

Very nice job sir and kudos to you for bringing your son into
the hobby. Is it just me or have all us real space fans been more or less ignored by the major model companies?!!!

Yeah for sure. Thanks for the compliment!

We went to the NASA A human adventure exhibition in Stockholm last week. It was great with a lot of original stuff, among them a suit like this. I loved it.

Thanks thumbs! What can I say, I was hungry.

The weathering was tricky.. Being used to SW weathering I really had to hold back the dirty look. I think I might have done it too dirty anyway, but it looks so sterile and toyish with to little weathering.

Naaa! I think its perfect. After all...it is a replica of the moment of man's first step onto the moon. How dirty could he be at that singular moment in history. Don't change a thing. The visor is perfect as well.
