Default K't'inga

Here are the finished pics of the Ugh! Models 1/1000 scale K't'inga kit with my own modifications to more closely resemble the IKS Amar as seen at the start of STTMP. I also added a custom base with the V'Ger cloud emblazoned on it.

Work in progress pics can be seen here:

Looks nice.

Why the severe 'droop' of the neck, was it heated & straightened first?

The neck was straightened. It was much droopier before.

Here's a true story never revealed 'til now and only on RI...

Near the end of the build I noticed the droopiness you mentioned.
Well I didn't want to use heat to straighten it for fear it would mar the paint job (I'd already had to fix one spot under the command deck "sombrero" where the primer had bubbled) so I kept trying to bend the neck near where it connects to the back of the "bulb" by gently massaging the resin as I tried forcing it upward with my fingers. Anyway, I got a little carried away and the command bulb broke free and flew off into space!
Holy crap! flashed thru my brain as I watched from my recliner as this roughly golfball sized chunk of resin careened off towards the bricks in front of my fireplace!
Resin impacting bricks did not sound like a good combination to say the least.

It was then the modelling gods intervened and saved me...

The bulb landed miraculously in the whicker magazine basket next to the bricks! It touched down softly on an old issue of Sports Illustrated.
After I started breathing again, I retrieved it and noted no damage, it had broken cleanly free of the neck leaving the brass rod I'd added for support sticking out the back.
The break was quickly repaired using Plastic Surgery CA glue at which time I took the opportunity to adjust the angle of the bulb to make it more level.
So the neck itself still droops a tad but at least the command deck is straight gosh darn it!

Anyway, thanks for the comment!
