Default Cylon ambush

Apollo and Zack found the fleet of Cylon tanker is hide behind a backlighted nebula, just when the cylon raiders were starting thier attack on the Batlestars Colonial fleet.

Some pictures of the finished diorama, with the half studio scale Cylon Tanker.
It's not easy to shoot it, the camera has some trouble to focus.
They are shot at different times of the day, which also plays in the final rendering.

Few others before making engines streaks

Damn that's impressive!

Where'd you get the to-scale fighters, Olivier? Those add that level of additional detail that gets me all hot and bothered.

Thanks a lot Jeffrey

These tiny fighters are full scratched and resin casted. Have a look here (~3/4 down in the page)

As I precised on the rpf discussion of the 37" Galactica, they are in the 1/700~1/730th range, and forfuity are exactly the same size as Randy's one ! (so way out of the scale to go with the 37")

That's way cool! Especially the shot with the lighting effects. Brilliant!

Thanks Jake88.

In person, the lighting effect is softer, so looks more evenly distributed in the nebula, and the nebula is also less dense, more misty. I did not arrived to adjust the camera to get the real final effect.

Looks great. I like how you've made the diaorama flexible so you can change the position of the various ships for different effects and angles on the photos.

Thanks dbhs.
It was funny to rotate the tanker and turn around with the camera, trying to get some shots as if they were coming from the show.
