Default DQ Romulan Winged Defender

I wrapped up work on my Delta Quadrant Romulan Winged Defender this weekend. This is an amazing kit! It's one of the better FASA designs. The kit was a great build and the seams cleaned up easily. I know that Blue is not a color usually associated with the Romulans. I just love Blue. However my in universe answer is that this my Blue Romulan ships are captained by members of one family or clan. Anyway, the model was painted with Model Master Navy Blue Grey as the base color. Then the wings were painted with Cobalt Blue, Dark Blue, Sky Blue and Light French Blue Grey on the top and bottom of each wing. The impulse engines, gun barrels, bridge and parts of the "beak" are painted with Alclad II Steel. Finally the Bussard Collectors and the Warp Field Grilles and Impulse Engines were Painted with Alclad II chrome and Candy coated with Tamiya Clear Blue and Clear Yellow respectively. Most of the decals came with the model and were easy to apply. The decals for the impulse engines were made by our own Gouf and when on like dream, and they add a nice detail to a flat featureless part. The model was washed with Vallejo washes. They really helped to pop the feather pattern on the wings. Technically I started work on this model in July, however active work really didn't start until February. I am thrilled at how this model turned out. As always comments welcome (please excuse the links, Google photos wasn't cooperating)
