Upon closer examination,there a visible sink mark along
the fore/aft hull,just forward of the joint seam.

From what I've been able to gather,the wooden deck planking
and rails were used only when the boat was in port.

For those wanting to omit these parts to represent a boat on
patrol,there's the problem of missing weld seams where the deck
planking goes.
