Where are these warp nacelles coming from? Now that people are laser-aligning things I'm even more embarrassed by my Stone Age, I'll-just-eyeball-it approach...

The warp drives are a secondary casting from the 350 Sentinel project. Blappy made me several copies last year, and also sells them on his website. The Repulse was basically designed around the use of these engines.

As far as Laser-Aligning, I use a simple, self-leveling Skil laser from Lowes mounted to a 1x4 over head of my bench. The cross hairs, when lined up to the grid on my cutting mat, allow me to fine tune my "eye-ball" approach to making sure everything is parallel and perpendicular to the keel.

Command deck and bridge sculpting this weekend yielded new molds and castings:

The lower hull was scratch-built in styrene in a marathon Sunday afternoon:

I wish this was a movie and just watching it from the comfy couch!

Lower hull is just about wrapped up with the addition of the sensor cove and lower oval dome, made from a clear egg-shaped terrarium. Window ports get the brass treatment.

Bridge module has been cast and drilled, fitted to the upper hull:

Like those windows, and the bridge deck came out real nice.

Pre-Launch countdown to WF is 9 days. Here's where we are now:

Lower hull and primary are windowed and lit. Upper half still requires 40+ window ports and all of the wiring. 3D printed parts are scheduled to arrive Saturday.

Looking good!

I may have missed it, but how are you attaching the styrene to the brass? Epoxy, SGlue?

Both. Initially CA, then reinforced in areas with 5-minute epoxy.
