great mods you've done there Thom! They work nicely together to make a unique version that is still in keeping with the show

Yes, I believe so! Though I snipped off the dishes between the barrels. They are really good.

It just keeps reverberating!

Some paint laid down. It's taking a little while, as that is a lot of real estate for an airbrush, but getting there!

Also decided to finish the armor on my Jupiter class.

Dymo tape going down for armor plate!

Slow going right now on that, but it pays off!

As for Galactica, I'm nearly done with the paint.

I ended up not liking those lighter panels and went over them with nato black and then neutral gray again. I made sure to still keep them a different shade. I then masked and applied the red trim. It will need some clean up but it's getting close!

looks great under paint Thom! Beautiful! Are you going to give it a metallic overcoat? I keep thinking a light coat of Alclad Stainless steel (no black under coat - just straight over the top) wouldn't look the part?

Thanks! I'm not so good on the paint part, but doing good enough. All the sub assemblies are just about done. I had to redo some of the red trim around the flight deck apertures. And touch up some paint that got rubbed off from handling.

The sublight engines ready to go on.

The spine with the PE emblem sanded clear of paint.

And the main hull. I used Tamiya panel line wash for the insert areas and to darken up the trenches. I think it would have been better to paint the trenches before the parts went together, but they're looking good otherwise. Also neatened up the red stripe on the bow.

Finished up today with starting to put the main parts together, flight pods and engines. Then the little antennas, ARDRIS dish and the gun turrets.

Til then!

Thanks a lot! And she's DUN!

Ended up putting the 'finishing' touches on her yesterday. Glad to have her wrapped up after more than a year in the yards!

More pics in the Finished Section.

very nice Thom and some much needed inspiration to get mine done... once I have finished off another couple of projects first (Andromeda for example and the QM2 - it never ends!)

There's always another project needing attention! We are in the same ship.

Fantastic work, Thom! She looks like the Battlewagon that even the Borg would think twice about messing with!
