As to light blocking, hopefully you'll only 'see the light' in the right spots.

All in one color and nearly ready for paint. Some panel lines need rescribed and few new ones added.

It looks so flawless, you'd swear it was CG.
(That's, like, alpha-nerd level recursion right there.)

Ok, is this primer? And what kind? I'm assuming this was airbrushed?

Still totally geekin' out over here...

Weekend update: Final overall bodywork, priming and lightblocking. A batch of Tamiya XF-19 Sky Gray and flat white were mixed 3:1 as the base color and laid down, followed by the first of many hull panel variations. The first was the 'rust ring' done in reverse as well as a bridge panel. Nacelle fins and end cap shrouds were painted in a mix of Tamiya XF-66 Light Gray and a few drops of flat white.

Absolutely phenomenal.

The "reverse rust ring" looks awesome.

Any "strongback" patterning planned?

Best-

Thanks! Yep, I posted this mock-up earlier but I revised it a bit, adding more panel ideas around the stern dome and a blue ring around the bridge dome.

Painting update. First time using Alclad finishes, the end caps and Close Field Sensor were sprayed with Duraluminum. A secondary color purchased - 'Pale Burnt Metal' - which was supposed to have a gold tone, turned out to have been mislabeled as it was not as advertised. This was to have been used on the main sensor dish and shroud. New stock is on order and will be very tight for WonderFest.

Next, I attempted to try some pre-shading on the panel lines to bring out some sense of scale. I mixed a slightly darker shade of the base color and used a new fine-tipped airbrush nozzle to trace these areas.

These lines were subdued by respraying them lightly with a thinned mixture of the original base color.

Lower hull was masked and sprayed today as well as a pre-shade pass on the panel lines.

Lastly, tonight I unmasked all the window ports, navigation beacons, impulse and warp grill areas. The bridge module wiring harness is next to be installed.
