Next April at the Hutchinson, Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center they are hosting the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 13 flight. Rumor is that Jim Lovell (my fav), Fred Haise, Gene Krantz and others will be there.

I intend to be there! Anyone?

Oh, when Apollo 11 launched, I was four years old and was sitting next to my father to watch. We had a black and white TV. I also remember watching Neil step on the moon. A while later I had the little plastic rover off the jars of tang breakfast drink!

Thanks for the memories!

I missed Apollo 12's anniversary the other day... Apollo 13 will likely get coverage in a few months for obvious reasons...

Thanks man!

Yeah 1/48 scale would be absolutely sick but this was the biggest one getting around when i purchased it many years ago.

Also just a happy anniversary to the Apollo 11 crew on this day!

Spent the afternoon with this one yesterday at KSC. Your model is stunning!
I have the big Revell kit I've been sitting on for about 10 yrs., time to get it out and build it! Thanks for the inspiration!

That is a great shot!
That is some serious horsepower right there!LOL

I've actually stood in that exact spot many, many moons ago now, unfortunately.
It's so mind boggling thinking they use ta launch these things from the cape after seeing the size of em in person. It's good to know the remaining ones are now all under cover being protected somewhat from the element at least. The one down at KSC the best, but then with the weather down there it's a good thing.Looking after em now how they are has has given something for the future generations to marvel at also.

Great to see the evolution of your model, I love the the V, I have always found its statistics impressive, its power, size, and all the parts and people that made it work have never been matched, and I wonder if they ever will be.

Thanks for posting!

Thanks for stopping in and thanks for your comments.

They are an impressive things the old Saturn's,would have been great to see one launch in it's day without question.Still, for us that are not old enough to have been able to see one launch we can still see one with our own eyes today.Amazing machine for it's time and even still today it's a pretty overwhelming sight to behold.Nothing quite like it really!!
