Exclamation my historic model collection

Hi folks,

I want like to show you my own little model collection. I still have lots unbuilt models, but at the moment I haven't enough place and possibilities to built these little to big scale treasures. Deep in my heart I would like to have a 1 to 1 model of the Battlestar GALACTICA studio model, but I'm afraid I'm unable to do this, because I would need lots of more models for the accurate exterior display and of course a hobby room to built this beautiful spaceship.
I hope you'll like my pictures. If there are any questions from you, feel free to contact me.

cheers, Volker

Thanks Rob,

yep I think so. Unfortunately, I have to clean all my models from dust from time to time, because all displays are just uncovered. And the one of the big shuttle model have had several crash downs from the table during public displays or just by own faults at home. So the conditions of my models are not 100 percent perfect. By the way, I really like this great forum very much! I envy all the guys are working on there own special GALACTICA projects with the original studio scale. Keep on working guys.

I'm sorry folks, I think I've post my thread in the wrong section of this forum, because all of my shown models are finished. Maybe the administrator can move my post in the right one.

Is that the Testors 1:48 Blackbird? The weathering on it looks perfect! Would love to see some better pictures of it.

I've still got mine boxed, been collecting a fair bit of research over the last few weeks in preparation of building it.

Oh and welcome.

Welcome aboard,BATTLESTAR.
That sure is one fine collection ya got there.
Thats cool that main engine there with the big shuttle and the lil figures are cool for showing the size of these pieces.
How'd ya go about doing the seams on that big tank?
I started mine but stuffed it,so back in the box it went.

Love the 3 Anigrand lifting bodies, made one myself. But that shuttle looks incredible, nicely done, especially the engine.

Hello PetarB,

I've a short information for you: only the M2-F2 and the M2-F3 are Anigrand models. I've got the very rare resin model of the M2-F1 (the so called flying bathtub) directly from the Edwards Air Force Base museum. I only have built the 1-72 model, but I still have it in 1-144. In this scale the model is very tiny and so still in it's box. On the other hand I have all of the later built Lifting Body's (M2-F2, HL-10, X-24A and X-24B) with full resin parts in the big 1-48 scale. But these models are still waiting in there boxes too.

Welcome. Wow, what a great collection.

You got some great builds there. A wonderful job all around.

I am a big fan of the Blackbird to. Would love to see more pics of your Blackbird. I have 2 Blackbird models waiting to be built.

Just amazing work.

Oh, I forgot to say thank you all for the very warm welcome here. I really appreciate this and it is a great pleasure for me to become a member here!

For all the SR-71 freaks I can tell you this: I'll make some new photographs of this very unique bird soon. I just have to clean this baby. And yes, it is the 1-48 Testors -model. I have this baby twice and the second one will become a full airbrush finish. The model of the photograph has a usual brush/drybrush finish without any coating. Now - after several cleanups - the plane looks a little bit too wheathered in matter of the missing decal parts, but I still love it.

For RKW: I'm not sure what do you mean about the seam of the ET of the shuttle. I've worked with plastic surfacer and put the paint on with a swam. Unfortunately, the red-brown paint mixture is become a little bit too red in the finish, but I'll make it better in the third 1-72 space shuttle model and than I'll use my airbrush set for a good finish.

Thank you all for the very nice compliments! And if you maybe ask which guy is standing beside the Flying Bathtub . . . of course it's one of the famous test pilots ever: Milt Thompson. And the guy besides the Bell X-1 is Chuck Yeager.

Hey dude, that was me asking about the seam.
I'm referring ta the seam from the ET halves and the bottom and top pieces of the tank.
I know most of the seams are hidden by the solids but there the bit above the top of the solids and of course the back view shows that bottom part seam.
The problem i had is the texture is molded on the tank and my seams looked crap.I tried ta pick at them to roughen em up but the result looked crap.
So back in the box it went!
Damn, seeing yours there makes me wish i'd tried something different.
Awesome stuff dude!!

For all the SR-71 fans: here are my new photographs. Okay, it isn't the NASA-version of the bird and so it should be in the military section of the forum. Nevertheless, I hope this is okay for you guy's so please enjoy.

See you.
