Default Another Falke on the bench

I have already popped open another Falke for a similar quick build to the one in the "finished" thread.
I started this morning when i arrived at work, and in between doing *actual* work, i managed to get a little bit done. I took plenty of pics on the way, and i will post them here so as to not have to make another thread. I will warn everyone that i uploaded them in full resolution, as sometimes i lose details by reducing the filesize.
To begin, i decided this one would have an interior(The yellow one i did last week, i left the interior parts in the box so i will always have a spare interior now!).
I want to add a little flair to this one(I haven't yet decided on the exterior colour scheme, but i decided on a black cockpit, with gunmetal/mithril silver highlights, some red/yellow/blue accents on the control panel buttons, a leathery brown for the headrest colour and some redone wiring details(The kit comes with some great molded-in wiring. For the purposes of this build, those will all be getting dremelled off and replaced with shrouded electrical wire).
My first job, was to make a way for the dashboard to be removeable. To this end, i glued three small neodymium magnets onto the back of the display part, and used Aves to fix those in place(I tacked them in place with a little CA, and then added the Aves before priming the area with black primer). The idea is that the dash will be rock steady in place, but i can reach in and remove it with just one finger in order to be able to put a pilot in there. The dash was painted black primer, and the rings on the face/dial surrounds were brush painted games workshop mithril silver before the decals were added. I haven't added the little yellow/black warning surround on the right of the dash yet, but i will.
For the cockpit, i wanted a little bit more wiring on show, so i added more coming from the headrest area, down behind the seat to the footrest area, and also more from the "thing" to the left of the pilot's head. This was simple red shrouded electrical cable, about 1mm thick and gold wire about .25mm thick. I used this same gold wire to add a couple of cables coming out of the hand controls and running back behind the armrests.
For the seat, i primed it black and added some maskol in random shapes(To show the incredible wear a meatal seat would get with a pilot's feet scuffing it on the way in and the way out of the craft), before painting the seat the same shade of yellow the other Falke was painted(I think it works. Comments welcomed about that).
As mentioned above, i dremelled off the wiring that is molded into the canopy door and replaced that. For painting, that was removed and reattached afterwards so i didn't have to paint it.
I also did that for the wiring on the right "wheel-arch" which holds the main cannon. I removed the original detail and put some replacement wire on it. This too will be getting removed prior to main painting.
After this was done, i glued the ship together and filled the gaps, sanding them when the putty was hardened from 80 grit all the way up to 1500 grit wet&dry.
And that's where i am right now. Some of the exterior has a bit of overspray from the painting of the black interior surfaces, but it will be getting primed grey either tomorrow or wednesday, depending on what else i have to do at work.
Let me know if there's anything in them i didn't explain.
And keep in mind it's still got at least a day's worth of work on it to get it finished. I think most of the hard work is over, what with the cockpit being sealed up already!
Here are the pics:

Okay. Today i got my new design of dive brakes painted on the Tiger Falke, and i got a lot of the painting done on the white one.
The flimsy backstory is that this one is a fighter interceptor in a group of 8 which act as escort to the Russian Premier when he is travelling in his jet.
I am on the fence over whether it "needs" the red arrows and stripes from the MiG-3(Which i am trying to homage with this paintscheme).
Answers on a postcard to the usual address...
In any case, first up are a couple of pics of the Tiger Falke and then a couple of comparison images with it beside the "Star-Squadron" white one, then it's ALL about the white one again!
Enjoy!
And let me know what you think about it.

Thanks.
I look forward to your build!
I have one more left in the pile, one on the way from HLJ(HLJ have a SALE on right now!), and i will be buying another couple from the SSM store this week coming.
I'd normally ONLy patronise John and Linda for pirchases like this, but the sale made it hard to pass up.

It's a lot cleaner, that's for sure. But if the Ma.K guys get their way, it will be heavily weathered shortly...
And then i can get back to working on your Hyperdrive Ring!

For sure.
My Mum is terminally ill. Her cancer has come back with a vengeance, and i haven't had a lot of time for things model related. I have only been building these kits to try and use them as a stress-buster. It's working a little bit, but it's no fun watching your Mum die when there's nothing you can do about it. Models can only help distract me a little bit.
I promise i will get back to your model. Sorry for the delay.

What i got done today RE: the Falkes, is to take a few pics.
I haven't got photoshop back up and running on this new computer, but hopefully tomorrow, and when i do, i can erase the poles in the following shots for some fairly realistic air shots(Here's what was ACTUALLY going on, Lol!):

Very sorry to hear that Barry----I know that my Dad's final months and the months following his passing were very, very, hard. Luckily I had all the folks here and over at SSM to comfort me, distract me, and most of all make me laugh.

When the time comes, we're here.

Now---back to modelling Damnit!!!!

Thanks a lot George. I really appreciate your kind comments. I know for sure that when my Mum does pass, i will get the most help from people who have gone through it themselves...
I really wanted to keep this thread about the models, but i also wanted Drew to know why i hadn't finished the 1/18 Hyperdrive ring i was building for him.

Hey Barry - not even on my mind mate, it goes without saying your Mum gets 1000% if not more. All the very best for the tough time ahead.
