Default Viking Models Alvin submersible

So... I haven't posted anything here in years... but with the self isolation and no job, i have had tons of time on my hands...

I have had this model in my stash for must be close to two decades now, so i figure its time to build it.

catching up to current work... did some cleanup on the metal parts, first coat of paint on some of the photo-etch, white primer, and first color coats...

The original kit came with a ton of pot metal parts as well as something that appeared to be chopped up paperclips... some of these pot metal parts are meant to be the shrouds that surround the rear thrusters... kind of like roll-cages on a jeep. the paperclips are meant to make up a "roof-rack" for the cameras and lights on top of the hull. i made new parts out of brass rod, soldered together. much stronger than the original parts, and more scale size as well.

Some more details added, and some more painting done... only a few more items to add... then i get to figure out how to replace 20 year old decals.

The only things that remain are cabling going from each camera and light back to their respective pressure hull penetrations, and the decals, which i discovered are dry transfers... and still in working condition.

I shall call it finished... only because i am afraid that if i do anything more to it i will really screw it up...
