Default U.S.S. Nelson 1/1000 scratchbuild

U.S.S. Nelson scratchbuild
The USS Nelson, a concept ship design from John Eaves for the Star Trek Online game.

It's a Defiant-class a like sized ship. Around 190m in length. So I decided to do it in 1/1000 scale to match the PolarLights Defiant and Starcrafts Akira.

The basic shape via old school scratch:

Phenomenal! It's a sweet little ship and your build is looking great. It lit too! (That's the expression of 'damn that's lit!' as well as 'look it has lights!')

Constructing the two decks of the midship and the bridge.
2nd try. The 1st one was too high:

To get the right shape of the rounded side parts, I use a paper tape.

Draw and cut at the edges and use it as template for the plastic sheet.

I think she got more Federation style now.😀

Default Re: U.S.S. Nelson 1/1000 scratchbuild

some update on this project:

Upper decks windows

Light test after glued the top plate (last access to the electronics)
An all seems to function

Finished the Ablative armor plates on the bottom.

After light blocking and adding some details I'm painting the base color at the moment. But I've got no idea for the color scheme Maybe like Defiant or Nova class.
Base is also done and primed.
I'm posting more pix soon…
