On the final stretch now.
Anchors, chain and cat head rigging fitted. ![]() ![]() Footropes on the yards done. ![]() Figurehead in her rightful place. ![]() So just have to wait a bit untill the photo resist film for the intended photo-etch stern decoration bit arrives. But while that's on the cards, i'll be getting to work on the base over the next few days. So the to do list is the base, stern decoration, a stem to stern lookover and put to right any problems and that will be it. For now though, she's pretty much a done deal build wise so a few pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Go easy all! ![]()

What a little beauty Ian, you've done a fantastic job on the rigging!
Obviously you have no trouble with WW1 bi- or tri-planes then?? ![]() |

I thank ya JT, she ain't looking too shabby thusfar.
Aye, them lovely old WWI stringbags are less of a problem in the rigging thing...not to say they haven't caused me a few frowning moments here and there when doing them mind you ![]() Well a bit of base slinging together as it were. 3/4" MDF, topped off with some 1/16" thick teak strips glued down and secured with brass pins. Surround is 1/8" teak glued and pinned then the lot sanded the hell out off to level it up and make smooth. ![]() Then came the inevitable stain/wax treatment times 3 and a goodly dose of elbow grease buffing up. ![]() ![]() And lastly...some DIY photo-etch farting about. ![]() ![]() ![]() A couple of wood turnings to get sorted for the model supports and some feet to find for the baseboard. Probably make a display case up in due course but we nearly done! Go easy out there all. ![]()

Well final dealings dealt with.
Some small rubber feet for the base... ![]() Two small PE brass plates, one for each side of the base nailed in position... ![]() Two wood turnings sorted and drilled out, the brass rod from the keel goes through these and in to the base... ![]() And i'm calling this one a done deal as far as it goes as i'm out of time to spend on it. Site gallery proper to follow as soon as the weather permits. ![]() ![]() Go easy out there all! ![]()

Something tells me you have built one of these before.
![]() I would have been happy with just the completed hull, no hardware!! Fabtastic! I wish I had time to tackle a wood ship model.
