Default Pegasus T2 Hunter Killer Tank

Fathers day came a little early. My wife got me the new HK Tank kit from Pegasus. Its molded in grey ABS. The sprues are cleanly molded with sharp detail...(cant stand to use CRISP to describe detail its a model not a fried snack chip)
The lights on the head are molded in clear red, and blue styrene and will help when lighting. Overall detailing matches pretty well with references available. The model also matches in size to the resin one i bought years ago. so its safe to say this one IS 1/35. The only real downside i can see to the model is rubber band track. I would have preferred link and length track as it can be painted with alclad along with the rest of the model. I dont think the rubber will take any paint well. Maybe i can find a way to cast the track strips in one length and then use the resin track as a wrap around. I will have pics of sprues up shortly.

I have the body head and "arms" for the turrets built right now. Will start a build post shortly. SO far Very good kit. Fit is pretty darn good BUT due to the butt fit nature of alot of the panels there will be alot of seam filling and blending...

If they Vacuum chrome the parts then the chrome is more robust and wont come off as easily. Similar process to how Polar Lights did the stainless steel finish on their deolrean kits. Its also how the original filming models were chromed. It produces a much cleaner and tighter finish than the dip method used by most model companies like Ertl and Monogram.

sadly on a chromed model THIS BIG you dont...
Usually though the chrome one is already built like their 1953 War of the worlds model.

Ah, gotcha. I always wondered why people wanted chromed things when you wouldn't be able to fix the "blemishes" that would be there from removing the parts from their trees and seem lines.

Dont let my comments on the track discourage anyone though. It IS a well made kit and goes together easily. Ita as accurate as i can tell. I would have PERSONALLY preferred to have link and length track instead.

The tracks look simple enough that it wouldn't be that tough to create a track set for it. And while individual track links are a chore, nothing sags quite so convincingly.
Thanks for the review and good luck with the build.

Looking forward to the pics and seeing how you are tackling the build. Are you going to Alclad paint it? The tracks issue is the chrome plating I understand?

Looks like they misspelt 'Judgement' on the box. Not too expensive either, I can imagine it being well into the double digits here.

If someone wants to send me a track set from it, I'll model up a link in cg that one of you guys can grow and cast away to your hearts content for every one else here.
