Default Minicraft Titanic with 100 LED lights

I saw the other Minicraft Titanic's on this thread and thought I would add the pics of my own, now I didn't super detail this kit, I was looking to make it a great display with the lights in the room either off or low. I used a Dremel to drill out all the windows and portals on both sides of the ship. I then lined the inside of the ship with a light colored thin plastic to disperse the light and built a rail with about 40 yellow LED's to light the hull. I also made the included base into power cradle with copper strips that touch the hull to power the ships light. After the hulls lights where complete I built each level and ran lights to each room, everything is hooked up in parallel so if I lose one LED the whole thing wont go out....

It was a fun build and the kit is well made, and very detailed. It now lights up on a custom light sensor circuit when the room lights gets low.

I've got one of these kits, BUT, I'll be happy just to get it built.

Kudos on the project.

Thanks !

I got the idea after seeing the hull, all the portals are very crisply molded, easy to drill out, although I had to do it twice, the paint filled in some of the smaller ones after the first coat of flat black.

I think if I dont it again I would also use photo etch railings, but live and learn, it was the kit I built wile I was out of work for a wile...

Man, that looks astounding. I have one of these kits as well and honestly, never thought of lighting it.
