Default 1/2.5 Scale 3D printed Katana And Scabbard

Whatho gang.
About bloody time i posted something so here it be. Part of a long winded project between me and my old friend as part of a,large scale figure he's building with printed parts supplied by yours truly.

More on that another time but for now, here's the main weapon his Elven lass will be packing.

The mesh grabbed from a Skyrim gaming mods site, fiddled with and shoved through my Velleman k8200. Also a good opportunity to give the new E3D V6 hot end a good run.

Gallery with 13 pics linky thing:

Thread pics!

The whole thing with the very much required coke can for size purposes

The whole thing together. It comes out at about 14 & 3/4" long.

All the main parts were ABS printed then some green nylon thread got slung at it with much twisting, teeth gnashing and cyano.

Some DIY photo etch got thrown in and why the hell not.

So not too shabby and it'll do for this testing lark. The blade was sanded down and given a treatment of metal cote paint and S&J metal powder with much buffing for each coat.

And a YouTube vid with my inane waffle over the top

And that's all outta me for now methinks!

Cheers JT,
Didn't turn out too bad in the end but it did the bit for a test so much more to come on a date yet to be arrived at

The texture from the print was more than acceptable for this so saved me some faffing about which is all good.
