Default Daedalus Class BC-304 1/700

I always wanted to create a 3D Model of one of Scifi Hero Ships that are out there and print them is a large scale, like the Enterprise-E, Galactica, White Star or the Daedalus. A big problem until now has been the cost of 3D-Printers that can print in the quality I want but that has changed now and I started a project to create a high quality model of the Daedalus Class from Stargate.

Unfortunately I am not a 3D Modeler so I hired chrisbibby over at CG-Trader who has already created some incredibly models for 3D Printing and I got outstanding help from a friend who has the actual screen used CGI model that he can't give away but he was able to point things out that need to be changed, btw a lot of errors have already be corrected but are not visible on these pictures but a lot still need to be fixed.

I hope you like what you see and this will be only the first of many models you will see from us two.

The planned dimension of the model will be:

Length: 105,42cm
Width: 57,cm
Scale: 1/700

Outstanding work. Always liked the design of this beastie! I bought his Y-Wing mesh and it's rather spectacular

Thanks, she is turning out great much better than I had ever hoped. Funny that you mention the Y-Wing it's the reason why I got in contact with him

Great looking model of a great looking ship. A lot of detail on that.

Thanks, the last count I did was around 500 parts to print there are many copies but you have that with every model and the number is still growing.

I started playing around with the Hull Pattern for the Daedalus, I think it looks good but please let me know what you think.

The shield and Con-Tower have been finished, only the engines are left to do.

Thanks, I have an overal plan where everything goes but when we created the model I wanted that everyone can build the model even without a plan so all over the model there are dents for the part to fit in.

The final part of the model has been finished, after taking a small break some revisions will be made to the model after that we will add panel lines to the surface of the model like the original filming 3d model has them.
