Default Question regarding 1/72 Revell Gato Sub

I'm building a 1/72 Revell Gato and I'm on the fence with the main pressure hull lines. I know that welding seams do stick up a bit (bumps), but the raised lines seem to be overkill and to me they look more like raised lines rather than weld seams. Has anyone sanded off the lines and scribed lines in their place? Any recommendations?

I recommend Archer Fine Transfers. They produce a series of
resin weld lines, that apply like decals.

Here's the "Perfect weld beads starter set"...

I hope that helps.

Thanks for replying. I never new that someone actually made resin transfers. Its not quite what I'm needing for this project, but may come in handy for the future.

Tazman,

i haven't got the Gato, i am more of a german wwII submarine guy. i have used AMP for their detail kits regarding the type II. you might want to check out their stuff for the Gato, as well as their forum for some tips regarding that boat.
